Adopt-a-School partnerships greatly boost the impact of Madison Metropolitan School District social workers. Anne Yates, who served at Cherokee Heights Middle School, experienced firsthand the role of partners like Thermo Fisher Scientific and Westminster Presbyterian who helped students with basic needs like food and clothing. ❤️

Thank you to the entire staff at Yahara Software for opening your doors for Vel Phillips Memorial High School students to experience your industry and organization. We’re grateful to have such a fantastic Adopt-a-School partner who can offer these opportunities to Madison Metropolitan School District students! “The job shadowing experience was truly remarkable, and the students from Memorial High School couldn't stop talking about it on the way back to school. They were thrilled by the opportunity to witness a software company in action and deeply appreciated the warm welcome and inclusion they received from your employees. The social atmosphere and personal interaction with clients were particularly memorable for them. Your invaluable advice to the students was also greatly appreciated.” –Steve Guziewski, Memorial High Pathways Learning Coordinator

Hosting community education sessions is one way the Foundation brings awareness to the wide range of services Madison Metropolitan School District provides our students. We recently hosted Dr. Kristen Guetschow, MMSD’s director of mental health. The district’s team of professionals meets students at their level of need to improve their well-being and coping strategies so their academic progress is not hindered.
